The title of the workshop is
inspired by the celebrated book by David Mumford: Curves and their Jacobians,
The University of Michigan Press, Lecture I: What is a curve and how
explicitly can we describe them? Lecture II: The moduli space of curves: definition, coordinatization,
and some properties. Lecture III: How Jacobians and theta functions arise. Lecture IV: The Torelli theorem and the Schottky
problem. Correspondingly, the workshop
consists of four courses (of 5 hours each, to be spread on four days) devoted
to the contemporary state of the art delivered by: Marian Aprodu ( Gabriele Mondello (Roma
I): Riemann surfaces, ribbon graphs and
combinatorial classes. (program) Paolo Stellari (Milano): Derived categories and the geometry of
curves and their Jacobians. (program) Filippo Viviani (Roma Tre): The Torelli morphism and the Torelli theorem. (program) |
